During my recent visit at the location on Troy, Michigan. We were told there was an hour delay and were seated before the hour was I was pleased at first, then about 20 more minutes the manager Durrell came it to explain it would be about another 30 minutes.
It was over an hour later before the cook came out? When he did he was rude with an attitude Ricardo only did the shrimp trick and acted like that and any further tricks would be a problem. I informed the waitress it was my sons 25th birthday. There was no celebration no Ice Cream I dont even think she said happy birthday.
During the meal being cooked rain started coming through the ceiling where the grill vents and hoods are as well as a nearby light fixture, I really thought the whole time a fire would start at any moment. There were no mushrooms or onions in the soup when the lady at our table asked for some they said they had none then sent raw ones out to the table. When the food was done they brought to go boxes, I asked for another soda and she brought it in a to go cup. Though we were the last table I still expected great service and great ambiance.
My bill was $146.68 for absolute garbage service and garbage ambiance and no celebration. I then felt the necessity to still tip $22. Please keep in mind this was our first time at Benihanas and I can guarantee it will be my last. In the video wherever there is a dish bucket there is a leak in the ceiling.
Dwayne have is a discount after several discussions about all of this but for the money spent there, it makes you question where is it going because it certainly isnt going on fixing it up. I want my money back though the food was good i couldve went to the corner Rice King and got the exact same thing for $20

Bad experience
My recent visit to Benihana was far from satisfactory. The power went out, and instead of addressing the issue promptly, we felt like hostages in a dark environment for a quick second with a bunch of gas stoves.
To make matters worse, we were threatened, and only after finishing our meal did they inform us that their card machines were down from said power outage .
Attempting to speak with the manager was futile as they were unresponsive and unhelpful. The situation escalated to the point where law enforcement had to be involved. We tried many different ways to pay as the waitress offered to let us send her the money and she send it to them and the manager who wouldnt come speak to us said no. Then a very rude woman brought out a card machines appeared to be outdated relics from the 1980s.
Upon attempting to pay, we were informed that our cards wouldn't work with their ancient card machine.
This unexpected inconvenience, combined with the unresponsiveness of the manager and the involvement of law enforcement, made this dining experience truly regrettable. No discount was offered for the numerous issues we encountered, and we were forced to write down our card information, which raised serious security concerns.
Considering these circumstances, I strongly caution potential diners to think twice before choosing Benihana until they address these serious service and security issues.

Hello,
My name is Savannah Rodriguez and I visited Bennihana on 12/12/23. I was food posioined by bad lobster.
The staff refuses to assist me in getting reimbursed for my visit and is stating I must submit documentation. However, I work in healthcare and am a professional. I am aware the quality of the food was not up-to-par. The staff at your Shachmburg location Rosco and Juan have not been helpful.
In fact, both staff memebers told me I was lying. They told me ''We had 300 reservations and you were the only one who got ill.'' This is not true because my entire part of 7 is ill from the food.
I would hate to make this a legal issue, however, I will not be robbed $145 when the quality of the food was awful. I simply asked for a bill adjustment of $50 for food not cooked well.

I just had THE WORST dining experience of my life at Benihana in Plymouth Meeting on April 20, 2023 for my grandsons second birthday. We had a reservation for 7:15 pm for dinner for a small group of 5 adults and 1 toddler.
When we arrived at the establishment, there was no employee present at the hostess desk., no one was at the front door greeting guests nor providing any details when we arrived prior to 7:15 (we walked in the door at 7:09 pm). We were finally seated almost 30 minutes after our reservation time with no explanation even though several of the teppanyaki tables on the left side of the restaurant were empty and all of the tables on the right side were empty. No waitstaff come to the table for an additional 30 minutes to even take a drink or food order. We werent given napkins, silverware or chopsticks.
The only thing on the tables were plates and menus. Other tables were being seated after us and their orders taken with beverages, food and a chef being fed before us. The waitress who finally came was names Olivia. She was very new straight out of training, took our beverage order and disappeared.
We ordered a Dr Pepper, a diet Pepsi with lemon, a Tokyo mule, a haiku colada and a lemon drop. We had to go find the manager 20 minutes later when none of the beverages came to the table and we didn't see the server. The manager named Rhonda advised us that she was also serving as bartender and that she "had to stop making drinks and come to our table". She apologized for the delay which was now over an hour and 15 minutes after our reservation time and said the server was new and fresh out of training and that she would be making our beverages right now.
She also asked if our food order had been taken and we said no it had not. The server Olivia came back without the beverages again but took our food order. Once the order was completed she realized that one of the menus had accidentally touched the grill and melted on the grill. She attempted to pick up the plastic with her fingers but we told her she shouldn't do that on a 500 degree grill at the risk of burning herself.
The remainder of the plastic remained on the grill in front of us and no one ever came over to clean it off of the grill so we smelled burning plastic for the rest of the night. We were told by Rhonda the manager that our salad and soup would be out shortly and so would our drinks and that the chef would be back within a half hour to cook our food. Salad and soups were not served until 9:30 pm. Now we are at 2 hours and 15 minutes past the start of our reservation time.
Appetizers came out at 9:40 pm. Forgotten drinks served after 10 pm. No water even offered until after 10 pm. Long story short, we werent served food until after 10 pm at no fault of the chef named Rydell.
We had to have our food packaged to go at 10:35 pm. If it wasnt for the chef we would have had an even worse time but he attempted to do service recovery on our behalf because even he saw the disparity in service we received. After going on 4 hours and the manager seeking payment and we disputed the bill due to the horrible service she calls the police saying we are causing a disturbance and throwing plates in the establishment ! She locked us in the restaurant!
That was the final straw... The complete audacity of calling the police, the manager not doing any attempt at service recovery or asking what could be done to rectify the situation and the fact that she LIED to the police stating that "we were defacing the property throwing plates and food and causing a disturbance". Not only did we wait to speak to the police when they arrived and told them what really transpired but the police told us they have to come there all the time because of the same reason - customers complaining about the SAME treatment, horrible service and long waits! The employees at the location corroborated with our story and told them we did nothing wrong.
The police even told us to call corporate on the establishment! No apology to date and yes we paid the bill.

Apparently you did not seek medical attention and therefore have no documented proof you got food poisoning from this restaurant. No attorney is going to take you on as a client, as you have no case.
